How I Found My Centre - Karen Egan

I first met Karen in October 2011 when she began class with me through n8Yoga (before we changed our name to YogaHara). I am hard pressed to remember Karen ever missing a class. She is dedicated and enjoys taking her time exploring whatever practice is being shared. I love her commitment to going deeper.

Meet Karen Egan

Karen started at YogaHara in 2011, and has been a regular on Thursday nights ever since. She is a wonderful example of someone committing to deepening her practice and she is in it for the long haul.

How I found My Centre

Why do I practice Yoga? I have been practicing yoga for approximately seven years and every day am grateful for what I have learnt. My Yoga journey began after a rather traumatic time in my life and the healing process that followed. Anxiety enveloped my life however I knew the direction I wanted to go in and I knew what mattered most to me.

As soon as I lay on my mat, I am not a mother, wife, employee, friend or anyone other than me. I practice Ahimsa every single time I take to my mat and many other opportunities now throughout my daily life. I do Yoga for me. It allows me to breathe. It allows me to control my mind, body and breath.

Yoga has helped me in strengthening my body and improving flexibility I did not know I had. Through my Yoga practice I have gained confidence, comfort within my own body and a deeper understanding of all that I am.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion with me Gina.
