The end of the year is an ideal time to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday chores, and to turn inwards to practise mindfulness in a more focused way.  Mindfulness is one of the most effective ways to increase our wellbeing and can significantly improve every area of our lives.

A recent article in Business Insider titled: Research shows that 50-year-olds can have the brains of 25-year-olds if they meditate for just 15 minutes a day, had Neuroscientist Sara Lazar investigating Meditation for her own selfcare and she discovered an ever-increasing body of evidence that shows that meditation decreases stress, depression, and anxiety, reduces pain and insomnia, and increases quality of life.

This workshop is intended to provide practical tools to gain a greater balance, to reduce stress and to become more present and focused in the day-to-day living.  It is based on a mind-body approach and introduces mindfulness in an accessible and practical format.  Some of the techniques used include body scan, mindfulness meditation and breathing practice. By training our attention we can learn to be fully engaged in each moment in our life. And let's face it, who doesn't need a little less stress and more focus this time of year?

Nina Hakamies, our trained mindfulness teacher, will be facilitating the course. There are no prerequisites for attendance.
